In which I forget about Valentines day and make tomato chutney…

So I forgot that it was valentines day today… so did my husband, we remembered in the car on the way to work. So much for breakfast in bed… we decided to do valentines day next week rather, which sounds like ย good idea to me.

So instead of hearts and chocolates we have tomato chutney, which really has nothing to do with anything, except that I didn’t have room in my suitcase to bring a few bottles home from South Africa recently, so I made some instead. Yum.

I love your pictures Kerry. I’m a big fan of yours.

These tomato chutney looks great, the ingredients are: tomato, onion, garlic, hot peppers, olive oil, ginger, sugar, raisins and…? I can’t figure out what is the redish powder on the spoon ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Cheers,

    1. Paprika, and the recipe also calls for mixed spice, which i didnt photograph. And its vinegar, not olive oil, hard to tell from the photo… I will try find the link to the recipe and send it to you.

  3. PRETTY pictures – love the little story!

  4. That looks serious yummy! (Valentines Day can be any day of the year.. Hubby and I celebrate it as often as possible but never on Feb 14th …it’s us kicking against the commercialism LOL)

  8. Hello Kerry,
This recipe looks delicious and I will definitely be putting it on my husband’s list. he’s the main cook in our household. I function best as a scullery maid as I excel at chopping veggies and cleaning up and dishwashing. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks so much! The washing up is a running battle in our house, both my husband and i love to cook and hate doing the dishes… sounds like you have a better system! I found the recipe a few months back by googling “tomato chutney” but can’t seem to locate it again… if all else fails i can photograph the scap of paper i jotted it down onto, but you will have to forgive my handwriting!

  9. Wow you make the simplest things look like art, and the photos are so crisp!
Btw your new image header is gorgeous!

    1. You know, theres beauty and art in everything… you just have to look a bit closer sometimes… there are so many things around us everyday that we ignore or take for granted that, if you give them a bit of attention, can be the most beautiful things in the world.
      Thanks for your message! xx

  10. I really love how the images tell the story, narration isn’t needed at all (not that your write up was bad)! ๐Ÿ˜€
