Earlier this summer I was invited by National Geographic Traveller UK to spend a few days in Porto, the capital of the North, to photograph a travel story that has just been published in their latest issue. I love this beautiful city and was thrilled to have the chance to explore her properly as it had been several years since I’d last visited. The article, by Audrey Gillan, is quite food focused which meant I got to visit several of the best restaurants in town (perks of the job!). The people of the north are well known for their hospitality and I was exceptionally well received almost everywhere I visited, but most especially at the Euskaduna Studio, run by chef Vasco Coelho Santos, Almeja by Sofia Amaral Gomes and chef João Cura as well as at The Yeatman Gastronomic Restaurant, by chef Ricardo Costa.
Huge thanks too, to the ladies at the Porto tourism board, who helped with transportation and accommodation for my trip to the city.
