If you haven’t already, then you may want to read Day 1 and Day 2 first…
Day 3 took us from Praia do Malhão down to Sagres, the south-western corner of Portugal and the end of our trip. We meandered along, stopping for a while in Vila Nova de Milfontes, Zambujeira do Mar and Carrapateira and while on the last stretch of road before reaching our campsite we saw a cute sign for a little village called Aldeia da Pedralva… so we decided to take a detour. A detour that turned into a caipirinha and then another… and then dinner… and then another few caipirinhas… and then we started to imagine what we would do if the campsite was closed by the time we finally arrived. I was full of ideas of pitching the tent behind a tree in the middle of nowhere, but Tara has always been the more sensible one, even after a few drinks and firmly vetoed my plans, so we pushed on and finally arrived in Sagres, relieved to see that they stay open until 11:30pm.
Quite by coincidence and without either of us realising it beforehand, a friend and fellow blogger Claudia, from A Place For Twiggs also travelled this coastline the same week as us… and also ended up eating in the same restaurant in Pedralva! Great minds think alike, as they say… you can see her blog post here.

beautiful, thank you for sharing, when we go to Portugal, we’re gonna use this as our tour-blog 🙂
Thank you! Portugal is a beautiful place, you guys will have a great time here!
oh such beautiful photos!! we even took similar photos! i miss summer, it’s official!!! 🙂 you have a great strategy here, because reminding yourself of summer vacations during christmas time might be a very nice thing to do!
You see, where I come from Christmas time and summer vacations are at the same time! This whole winter Christmas just feels so wrong, I grew up with BBQ Christmas lunch followed by an afternoon at the beach, southern hemisphere Christmas is much more my style. 😉
wow great photos indeed. I love that coastline 🙂
Awesome post and pics – funny enough this is a trip I’ve always aspired to doing, but have never had the opportunity. Soon, I hope, soon….. 🙂
Awesome vacation photos!!
Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year

Hi Kerry! nice to see some pics from our little town of aldeia da Pedralva on your blog and thanks for helping promoting the village! Congrats also for your nice pics! great exposures and compositions!
for those that plan to visit Pedralva you can check more information about Surfinn Carrapateira Surf Camp e Escola de Surf!
We just got back and ended up losing the names of the sweet towns we were to visit along the coast. Sagres however is a very sweet town. Love the fishing village. It is very empty in February. It looks very inviting at night.
