Rhapsody Magazine | September 2016
Earlier this year I was contacted by Rhapsody, United Airlines inflight magazine, to photograph the Portuguese street artist Vhils and his works in Lisbon. I have been a huge fan of his work for many years and it was amazing to have the chance to meet him and hear more about his work and inspiration. The article ran in the September issue, you can see it in First and Business class on United Airlines, or see the story online HERE
Taqueria Pistola y Corazon
A few weeks before we embarked on our crazy European road trip (and my access to the internet was reduced practically nothing) I was contacted by a Taqueria Pistola y Corazon, a Mexican restaurant in Lisbon, to shoot some images for their site and branding. I loved this place, their food is SO GOOD and unlike a lot of “Mexican restaurants” that aren´t in Mexico, their food is the real thing… the best I´ve had since I was last in Mexico… which was a very long time ago. These are a few of my favourite images from 2 days spent…
Accent Magazine for AeroMexico – July 2015
Tear sheets from an article I photographed a few months back for Accent Magazine, AeroMexico´s first and business class in-flight mag.
Cacilhas, Almada
Everyone who visits Lisbon knows that the city is right on the Tejo river, the lifeblood of the city and quite possibly the reason it was built in the first place. But most visitors never head across the river to look back at the city from the other side. And it really is an amazing view. Historically the “industrial” side of the river, Cacilhas and the old warehouses at the river´s edge have unfortunately fallen into disrepair, almost all of them abandoned, and you only really see local fishermen, or visitors who are searching for something different, walking the water´s…
Wine in Lisbon – for Accent Magazine
As promised last week, here a few out-takes and some of my favourite images from a recent assignment for Accent magazine, Aeromexico´s inflight magazine. You can see the tear sheets from the magazine HERE.
Óbidos, Portugal
Óbidos is a medieval town about an hour´s drive north from Lisbon, on the west coast. One of my favourite things about this place is that it´s completely surrounded by old stone walls and you can walk the entire circumference of the town along them… it gives you a really great veiw over the town and the surrounding countryside.
Modern Lisbon – A food story for Travel & Leisure Magazine
As promised last week, these are a few out-takes and some of my favourite images from a recent assignment for Travel and Leisure Mexico… an amazing combination of food and travel photography in one of my favourite cities in all the world (second only to Cape Town!!)
Travel & Leisure Mexico – May 2014
A couple of months ago I was contacted by Travel and Leisure Mexico to shoot a story about the emerging modern food scene in Lisbon. I had the best time on this assignment, it was basically a fabulous combination of my 3 favourite activities… photography, travel and eating! And holy smokes did we eat. I was joined by food journalist Mariana Camacho from Mexico and we spent 5 days surrounded by food and wine in some amazing restaurants. This is the magazine layout as the story was published, CLICK HERE to see some of the out-takes and a few of my…
Goodbye summer…
This is pretty much my summer in a nutshell… there was lots of beach and delicious sunsets, quite a bit of sangria, an enormous amount of figs, Lisbon festivals in June, quite a bit of camping, seafood, more figs, more beach, Serra da Estrela, Algarve, Alentejo, more sangria and lots and lots of dogwalking. In between all of this there were 21 weddings and countless other shoots and things… and the fact that the rain in Spain does NOT stay mainly on the plain, but you already heard about that… It was a good summer, but now it´s almost over. But that´s…
